The Nigerian Senate has confirmed Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu and six others as ministers, following their nomination by President Bola Tinubu. After a five-hour screening session on Wednesday, Bianca was appointed as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, while Nentawe Yilwatda took the role of Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
Other appointees include Muhammadu Dingyadi as Minister of Labour and Employment, Jumoke Oduwole as Minister of Industry, Trade, and Development, Suwaiba Ahmad as Minister of State for Education, Idi Muktar Maiha as Minister of Livestock Development, and Yusuf Ata as Minister of State for Housing. Last week, President Tinubu restructured his cabinet, naming seven new ministers while reassigning ten others.
The reshuffle saw the dismissal of five ministers, including Uju-Ken Ohanenye and Lola Ade-John, due to underperformance.
