The Senate has issued a stern warning to Mele Kyari, the Group Managing Director of NNPC, and other top executives of petroleum subsidiaries, vowing to terminate their positions and pursue legal action. The focus of this aggressive stance is the extensive financial involvement in the Turn Around Maintenance (TAM) projects for refineries in Nigeria.
The Senate, after careful scrutiny, revealed that an astronomical sum of over ₦12 trillion has been expended on TAM projects from 2010 till date. Astonishingly, records indicate that over $592 million, €4.8 million, and £3.4 million were disbursed during this period, yet none of the refineries is operational. This revelation has ignited intense scrutiny, with the Senate poised to unravel the details of this alleged financial mismanagement and bring those responsible to justice.
