South African police have apprehended six individuals linked to the murder of renowned rapper AKA (Kiernan Forbes) and his close associate, celebrity chef Tibz (Tebello Motshoane). The tragic incident occurred on February 10, 2023, as the duo walked outside a Durban restaurant before AKA's scheduled performance at a nearby club. Law enforcement asserts that the suspects will face court proceedings on Thursday, February 29.

Police Commissioner Lt Gen Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi revealed that AKA was under surveillance from the airport, emphasizing that Tibz was not the intended target in the Florida Road, Durban murder. Mkhwanazi added that it appears the perpetrators were paid for the crime. South Africa's Police Minister, Bheki Cele, expressed hope that the arrests would bring a sense of relief to the nation. The motive behind the murder and the identities of those who commissioned the crime remain under investigation.
