Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Igboho, has finally regained his freedom after two years of legal battles in Benin. In an Instagram video, Igboho expressed his gratitude to God, the Beninese government, and various supporters who stood by him during his ordeal.

Igboho began by thanking God and the Yoruba community worldwide for their unwavering support. He also expressed his desire to give his late mother a befitting burial. Igboho extended special thanks to President Talon of Benin Republic and his cabinet, as well as prominent Yoruba figures like Professor Banji Akintoye and Professor Wole Soyinka for their support.



He acknowledged former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Baba Ayo Adebanjo, and religious leaders for their prayers. Igboho emphasized the importance of support from Yoruba royal fathers and chiefs in their fight for the Yoruba nation. He also mentioned specific obas and leaders who had shown him love and support.

Sunday Igboho concluded by appreciating organizations such as Megarally USA, Ilana Omo Oodua, and Igbega Omo Oodua USA and Canada.

Igboho's freedom came after his arrest at Cadjèhoun Airport in Cotonou on July 19, 2021, while attempting to travel to Germany, following his escape from Nigeria due to allegations of arms stockpiling and a raid on his residence by the Department of State Service (DSS).
