Alhaji Sulaiman Jimoh, known as Temo, a notorious Lagos drug lord, has been arrested by the NDLEA after years of evading capture. The 57-year-old, head of a major drug cartel, was apprehended following extensive surveillance and a confrontation with operatives in Mushin. The seizure included his escape vehicle.
In a breakthrough for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Alhaji Sulaiman Jimoh, also known as Temo, has been apprehended following years of successful evasion. Jimoh, 57, was the head of a significant drug syndicate operating in Mushin, Lagos.
Temo's arrest marks the culmination of a persistent pursuit by the NDLEA, which had been targeting him due to his substantial involvement in the drug trade. Over the past two years, Jimoh's cartel was linked to large drug seizures, including 14,524.8 kilograms of cannabis in January 2024 and subsequent large shipments intercepted in various locations.
The operation to capture Jimoh reached a climax on July 22, 2024, when NDLEA surveillance teams tracked him to his base on Igbarere Street, Mushin. Despite his efforts to escape in a Mercedes Benz SUV, which led to a confrontation involving around 50 operatives, he was eventually captured. The escape attempt was thwarted, and the vehicle was seized.
NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa lauded the dedication of the agency's personnel, highlighting the successful operation as a decisive blow against drug trafficking. Marwa stressed the NDLEA's commitment to dismantling drug networks and underscored that such arrests signal an unyielding effort to address drug-related crimes in Nigeria.
