President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima are set to allocate a staggering ₦10.13 billion for travels and meals, as disclosed in the details of the 2024 budget proposal currently under scrutiny by the National Assembly.
The budget outlines ₦7.6 billion for Tinubu's trips and ₦1.8 billion for Shettima's travels, with additional provisions of ₦660.5 million for feeding, including refreshments, meals, and foodstuff. Notably, the Aso Rock's zoo is budgeted ₦201.4 million for wildlife conservation.
The budget also earmarks ₦800 million for the renovation of the presidential and vice presidential quarters, sparking public debate over the allocation of funds for personal and official expenditures.
