President Bola Tinubu made a striking statement during the unveiling of two books in Abuja, asserting that former President Muhammadu Buhari's plan to relocate to Niger Republic is now impossible due to border closure.
Buhari had previously expressed his intention to retire to Daura, his hometown in Katsina State, or consider Niger if denied enough rest in Daura. Tinubu emphasized the impact of border closure, highlighting Buhari's inability to escape to Niger.
The event also acknowledged Femi Adesina, the author of the books, who served as Special Adviser on Media & Publicity from 2015 to 2023.
Tinubu commended the memoirs for providing insights into the challenges faced during Buhari's administration and pledged to continue initiatives started by Buhari, especially in addressing security concerns and economic development
