In a recent address to Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC), President Bola Tinubu asserted that Nigerians have no reason to be poor. Speaking at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Tinubu challenged the governors to prioritize policies that benefit all citizens, transcending political affiliations for the collective national interest.
Identifying divisiveness as a significant challenge facing the nation, Tinubu emphasized the need for the governing party to foster healing and unity. He urged a focus on a collective national vision, channeling energy and resources into nation-building initiatives that bridge gaps and promote inclusivity.
Tinubu highlighted the importance of development policies that resonate with the lives of the people, emphasizing inclusivity, ownership, and sustainability. He argued that Nigeria, rich in human, natural, and material resources, should not be grappling with infrastructural decay, a lack of quality education, and inadequate healthcare facilities.
"We have no reason to be poor," Tinubu declared, reflecting on Nigeria's potential for prosperity. He urged a concerted effort to address challenges such as the high number of out-of-school children. Tinubu proposed a comprehensive approach, involving all governors, regardless of political affiliation, in the school-feeding program to promote education and ensure children's return to classrooms.
