The North-Central APC has endorsed President Bola Tinubu for reelection in 2027, citing his administration's opportunities for the region. However, the Arewa Consultative Forum and its youth wing oppose Tinubu, favoring a northern candidate unless governance and socio-economic conditions improve. Regional political dynamics remain divided ahead of the election.

The North-Central chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has pledged its support for President Bola Tinubu's reelection bid in 2027. The announcement followed a meeting held in Abuja, where the forum highlighted Tinubu's contributions to the region since taking office in 2023.

The forum’s chairman, Saleh Zazzaga, noted that Tinubu's administration has extended numerous opportunities to the North-Central, making the endorsement a unified decision. States within the region, including Kogi, Kwara, Benue, Niger, Plateau, Nasarawa, and the Federal Capital Territory, are anticipated to back Tinubu for a second term.

This support comes amidst contrasting views from the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) and its youth wing. The ACF, through its spokesperson, Professor Tukur Muhammad-Baba, has expressed its intention to support a northern candidate for the 2027 presidency. Similarly, the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), led by Alhaji Shettima Yerima, criticized the current administration, citing unmet socio-economic expectations. The AYCF warned that the North might withhold its support unless significant changes are implemented.
