President Bola Tinubu, represented by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, launched the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship campaign in Kogi, pledging that the completion of the Ajaokuta steel complex would generate 500,000 jobs. Tinubu emphasized the potential for the steel complex to boost foreign direct investment (FDI) and create a conducive business environment.

In a statement by Stanley Nkwocha, media aide to Shettima, Tinubu stressed the importance of cooperation between Kogi State and the federal government to foster development. He described Tinubu as a leader with a wealth of ideas and a commitment to restructuring and stimulating Nigeria's economy.

Governor Yahaya Bello urged Kogi residents to vote for the APC to build upon the progress his administration has achieved in areas like security, education, and healthcare. The gubernatorial election in Kogi is scheduled for November 11.

Tinubu's remarks highlight the potential economic impact of completing the Ajaokuta steel complex and emphasize the need for political unity to drive development in the region. The campaign launch signals the start of the election season in Kogi State.
