Chicago State University (CSU) has complied with a court order to release the academic records of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This decision follows a directive from U.S. Judge Nancy Maldonado, who upheld Magistrate Judge Jeffrey Gilbert's ruling from the U.S. District Court. Initially, President Tinubu, who is the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate and a presidential aspirant in the 2023 general elections, objected to the release of these records, citing privacy concerns and their inadmissibility in his ongoing legal case in Nigeria. However, after an appeal was filed by Atiku Abubakar, Tinubu's main rival from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the judge ordered the documents' release within 48 hours. These documents, including a true copy of Tinubu's Bachelor of Science degree diploma from 1979, have now been released by CSU.
