The Boeing 777-300ER was diverted to Bangkok, where it made an emergency landing after experiencing turbulence, causing chaos inside the cabin as passengers and objects were thrown around. Among the 211 passengers and 18 crew onboard, one passenger lost his life, and the airline extended condolences to his family. Witnesses described a harrowing scene of sudden drops, screams, and injuries, with some passengers hitting their heads on overhead baggage cabins.
