Isa Dogonyaro, a member of the House of Representatives representing the Babura/Garki Federal Constituency of Jigawa State, has passed away after a brief illness, sending shockwaves through Nigeria's political landscape. The announcement of Dogonyaro's death was made in a statement issued by Rep. Akin Rotimi, Jr., the spokesperson of the House and Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs.

"Hon. Isa Dogonyaro was a dedicated and passionate legislator who served his constituents and the nation with utmost commitment," the statement read. "He was a pillar in the House, contributing significantly to the development of legislation, particularly in the area of HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria Control, where he served as the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee."

Elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dogonyaro was widely regarded for his integrity, diligence, and unwavering dedication to the welfare of the Nigerian people. His colleagues remembered him as a jovial and intellectual figure who built strong bonds of friendship across party lines.

"Hon. Dogonyaro was a detribalized patriot who was very jovial as much as he was an intellectual," the statement continued. "He built strong bonds of friendship with Honorable Members from all parts of the country. He is survived by wives and children." Dogonyaro's passing has prompted an outpouring of condolences and tributes from his colleagues in the House and constituents in Jigawa State.

"This is a devastating loss for our nation," said Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker of the House of Representatives. "Isa Dogonyaro was a tireless advocate for the people of Jigawa and a champion of public health initiatives. His absence will be deeply felt in these chambers."

Dogonyaro's work on the House Committee on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria Control was particularly praised, with colleagues citing his dedication to addressing these critical public health challenges. "He was a voice for the voiceless, tirelessly working to improve access to healthcare and raise awareness about these often-neglected diseases," said Hon. Aisha Dukku, a fellow member of the committee. "His contributions have undoubtedly saved countless lives."

As the House of Representatives mourns the loss of one of its own, attention now turns to the process of filling the vacant seat in the Babura/Garki Federal Constituency. Under Nigerian law, a by-election must be held within a specified timeframe to ensure the constituents' representation in the national legislature.

"In this moment of grief, our thoughts and prayers are with his family, constituents, colleagues, and the people of Jigawa State," the statement concluded. "We pray for strength and comfort for all who mourn his passing." Details of Dogonyaro's funeral arrangements are expected to be communicated in due course.
