Dr. Kamar Abdulkadir, a lecturer at the University of Maiduguri, was tragically murdered in his office on Sunday, according to reports from security analyst Zagazola Makama. Abdulkadir, who worked in the Department of Physical Health Education, was attacked by unidentified assailants wielding a knife and a hammer.
The perpetrators inflicted severe injuries, including removing his hands and smashing his head and spinal cord. His lifeless body was discovered in his office, surrounded by pools of blood. The attackers also made off with his vehicle and other belongings, sparking a search for the suspects by authorities.
The incident has raised concerns about campus security and the safety of academic staff at the university.
