Victor Osimhen is reportedly leaning towards a lucrative move to Al Ahli, with the Saudi club offering a ₦53 billion annual salary. Despite interest from Chelsea and PSG, the Napoli star may choose financial security, influenced by Brown Ideye's advice. Negotiations are ongoing, with a decision expected soon
Victor Osimhen, Napoli's star forward, is reportedly considering a move to Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli, after the club made a substantial offer of around ₦53 billion annually. This move, if finalized, could see Osimhen leave the Serie A champions, despite interest from European giants Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.
According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Osimhen is now more inclined toward the lucrative deal proposed by Al Ahli, which includes a four-year contract worth €30 million annually. Napoli, managed by Antonio Conte, appears eager to finalize this transfer, with plans already in motion to sign Romelu Lukaku as Osimhen’s replacement.
The potential transfer is being influenced by former Nigerian striker Brown Ideye, who advised Osimhen to prioritize financial security by accepting the Saudi offer. Ideye suggested that Osimhen could benefit from a stint in Saudi Arabia before potentially returning to European football.
A key meeting between Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, and Al Ahli’s sporting director is expected soon, where the final details of the deal could be ironed out. Although no formal agreement has been reached yet, the deal is moving swiftly, and Osimhen's future could be determined in the coming days.
If Osimhen accepts the offer, it would mark a significant moment in his career, prioritizing financial gains over competing in European football's top leagues. For Napoli, the transfer would provide much-needed funds to strengthen their squad for future challenges.
