In a candid revelation, veteran Nollywood actor Zack Orji has unveiled the harrowing ordeal he faced, undergoing two critical brain surgeries following a sudden collapse in his bathroom.
Orji recounted the chilling incident during an interview on Channels TV, expressing gratitude for surviving the ordeal, which left him unconscious for an alarming five and a half hours before assistance arrived. Colleagues Benedict Johnson and Labista played pivotal roles in his rescue, carrying him from the second floor to the ground floor and rushing him to the National Hospital in Abuja.
There, Dr. Biodun Ogungbo, a renowned neurosurgeon, performed the first surgery on January 1st. However, a month later, a residual blood clot necessitated a second surgery, emphasizing the severity of Orji's condition.
Throughout his recovery journey, Orji received an outpouring of support from prominent figures, including the President, the First Lady, the Vice President's wife, and several ministers. The overwhelming response highlighted both the resilience of the human spirit and the solidarity within Nigeria's entertainment and political spheres during times of crisis.
Following his recuperation in Nigeria, Orji sought post-surgery assessment in the UK, consulting with Dr. John Yeh to ensure his continued well-being. Orji's courageous account serves as a testament to the fragility of life and the importance of community support in times of adversity.
