Rotimi Amaechi, former governor of Rivers State, recently discussed his ongoing political rift with current Minister Nyesom Wike. During an interview with Ebere TV, Amaechi reflected on their history, noting that Wike served as his Chief of Staff when Amaechi was governor. Despite their shared past, he expressed a reluctance to mention Wike’s name, citing a profound ideological divide between them.

Amaechi emphasized his role in mentoring Rivers politicians, claiming that many of them have benefited from his leadership. He lamented the current political landscape, contrasting it with his early days, which were marked by principles and character. He recounted entering politics at age 22, describing the political environment as one rooted in integrity and commitment to character.

Amaechi expressed disappointment over the shift in values among today's politicians, stating that honesty was a fundamental principle he instilled in those he mentored. He remains firm in his belief that while Wike was part of his political legacy, the current dynamics have shifted significantly, making collaboration increasingly difficult.
