Chaos ensues as NLC and TUC strike leads to the closure of Murtala Muhammed International Airport's domestic terminal. Passengers were stranded, and flight operations were suspended. Labor demands higher minimum wage amidst government deadlock
Intending travelers face chaos as entry points to the domestic terminal of Murtala Muhammed International Airport remain inaccessible due to the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) strike.
A video circulating online captures the frustration of stranded passengers unable to enter the airport, leading to the suspension of all flight operations. The strike, aimed at improving workers' minimum wage, sees the organized labor demanding N494,000, while the government offers N60,000.
Despite last-minute negotiations between National Assembly leaders and labor representatives, the deadlock persists, with TUC President Festus Osifo affirming the strike's commencement as planned.
