Vice President Kashim Shettima, Atiku Abubakar, and Peter Obi attended the burial of Hajiya Dada, the mother of late President Musa Yar’Adua, in Katsina.
In a rare display of unity, Vice President Kashim Shettima, former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, and former Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi gathered in Katsina State for a significant occasion. The three political figures attended the burial of Hajiya Dada, the mother of late former Nigerian President Musa Yar’Adua, who passed away at the age of 102 at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina.
The burial took place on September 3, 2024, following Hajiya Dada's brief illness. She was also the mother of notable figures, including the late Shehu Musa Yar’Adua and Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua, the current Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army.
As they arrived at the Yar’Adua residence in Katsina, Shettima, Atiku, and Obi were seen sharing a vehicle, highlighting their mutual respect despite differing political affiliations. The presence of these prominent leaders at the funeral underscores the importance of familial ties and the recognition of shared history in Nigerian politics. Their joint attendance at such a solemn event serves as a reminder of the need for unity in a politically diverse landscape.
