The late Nollywood actor, Quadri Oyebamiji, known as Sisi Quadri, was laid to rest in his hometown of Iwo on Saturday. Following his demise at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso, his body was transported to Iwo on Friday. Prior to the burial, a gathering of residents, colleagues, and well-wishers assembled for prayers near his residence in Agbowo Area.
Toyin Olaiya, the former governor of the Association of Nigeria Theater Art Practitioners in Osun State, revealed that Oyebamiji fell ill while working on a film set. Olaiya, who led the first theater group Sisi Quadri joined in 1996, expressed shock at the actor's sudden death.
Despite being informed of the illness, Olaiya never anticipated such a tragic outcome, emphasizing that it is not uncommon for theater practitioners to face health challenges.
Sisi Quadri's journey in the entertainment industry, spanning from his initiation into Olaiya's group to his recent work, ended abruptly. The news of his illness prompted his contemporaries to visit him, unaware of the severity of the situation. The actor's passing marks a somber moment in the Nollywood community, leaving behind memories of his contributions to the vibrant world of Nigerian cinema.
