The Lagos State Police Command has initiated a special investigative team comprising 13 members to probe the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad, whose real name is Ilerioluwa Aloba. Mohbad, a former signee of Marlian Records, passed away on September 12, 2023. The team is mandated to uncover the circumstances surrounding his death, identify witnesses and potential culprits, and utilize technological tools and processes to aid the investigation, aligning with the relevant provisions of Nigeria's Constitution and State Laws.

Among the investigative actions to be taken are exhumation, autopsy/toxicology/histology, scene visits, examination of hospital/medical reports, and reviewing records of suspects and witnesses' statements. The team is expected to submit an interim report within two weeks. The members include Deputy ACP Saheed Kassim as the Head of Investigation, Detective CSP Cris Onyeisi as the Team Leader, and several others who will contribute to the investigation.

Additionally, the legal team and forensic team consist of experienced personnel who will support the investigation. The Lagos State Police Command is determined to conduct a discreet and comprehensive inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad's tragic passing.

The investigation comes in response to public interest and concerns surrounding the singer's death, aiming to ensure transparency and accountability in the process.
