Cynthia Omowumi Aloba, the wife of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has come forward to reveal that she has been receiving death threats since her husband's tragic passing.
Testifying at the Candide-Johnson Court House in Ita-Elewa, Ikorodu, Cynthia shared that the threats started pouring in after her husband's demise, leading her to feel unsafe in their home. She mentioned that her husband's opponents may have been behind the threats, and this prompted his desire to move to Canada. Despite the tumultuous situation, she attested to having a strong and friendly relationship with her father-in-law, whom she considered her best friend. She also denied claims of obtaining a Canadian visa.
Cynthia recounted her enduring connection with Mohbad, dating back to their secondary school days over a decade ago. She revealed that Mohbad deliberately refrained from posting photos of her and their child on social media to protect their privacy.
Cynthia refuted claims of a fight with her late husband and disclosed that he sustained an injury during a confrontation with someone referred to as "Prime Boy." Due to past run-ins with NDLEA operatives and fears related to Azeez Adeshina Fashola, known as Naira Marley, Mohbad refrained from seeking medical treatment for the injury.
She explained that her husband's injury remained untreated until they discovered bloodstains on the bedsheets. They attempted first aid and administered Panadol. A friend of her husband, known as 'Spending,' arranged for a nurse to provide injections. Cynthia, however, did not inquire about the injections. Her husband was eventually taken to two hospitals, but tragically, the second hospital pronounced him dead.
The case has been adjourned until November 15 for further proceedings
