Manchester City's perfect start to the Premier League season was halted as they fell 2-1 to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday. The reigning champions conceded an own goal when Ruben Dias deflected a Pedro Neto cross into his own net after Neto outpaced the City defense. However, Julian Alvarez equalized for Man City with a well-curled free-kick past Wolves' goalkeeper Jose Sa. Nevertheless, Hwang Hee-chan put Wolves back in the lead with a composed finish after being found unmarked in the box by Matheus Cunha.
Despite the defeat, Pep Guardiola's side remains at the top of the Premier League table. However, their position is at risk if Liverpool wins against Tottenham in the late Saturday game. Wolves are currently in 13th place with seven points from seven matches.
In another game, Crystal Palace secured a 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford. Palace took the lead when Joachim Andersen brilliantly struck a first-time effort into the top corner after a free-kick. This loss marks Manchester United's fourth defeat in seven Premier League games, making it their worst start to a league season after seven games in 34 years.
