Nigeria - Embattled ex National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, according to former Aviation Minister Femi Olu-Kayode was yesterday released from prison after he met his bail conditions.

He was however rearrested by DSS operatives and detained, Olu-Kayode tweeted.

"Dasuki met his bail conditions and was released from prison today. Against court orders he was immediately re-arrested and detained by DSS," he said.

Dasuki is currently being investigated over a fraudulent $2bn arms deal under the Goodluck Jonathan administration. Several highly placed citizens and government officials have been arrested and interrogated by the EFCC over the deal.

Although it is wrong for Dasuki to be rearrested, due to him fulfilling his bail conditions, but the sad truth is that corrupt Nigerians need iron hand brutal treatment, they need to be forced to return every kobo they stole. If not so they will play the system through the corrupt justice system and that will be the last we hear of the case. They may jump bail and go into exile, and then be granted pardon by a new incoming government. We all know what happened when one former governor was aquitted of over 80 corruption charges in Nigeria only to be jailed in the UK. They should be forced by whatever means to return the stolen loot, because when they were stealing the nation's money they did not think about the rule of law, neither did they show any mercy. So let them face the music.

Be careful what you wish for.. once you allow disregard for the law for any reason or advocate the abuse of Nigerians for the benefit of those in power then we will be the ones to suffer.

As for the specifics of Dasuki - I do not care either way. I am sure in his time he 'might' have detained people against court orders.

You guys should take whatever information emanating from FFK with a pinch of salt. Why did you rush to believe him? Is he the only one privy to the information? Has any paper reported it?

No one is claiming that the report is true, we are trying to answer pretty important questions which goes beyond FFK and Dasuki.

@TheLeftWing, ... and what are the questions? With due respect, you have already commented on unsubstantiated information. Isn't this contradicting?

My concern is that there seems to be a mood now that accepts anything that is done by the government. Any objection is seen as pro GEJ government. That is dangerous. People should be allowed to voice concerns and we can pick holes in the arguments one way or the other.
