At least, one person was confirmed killed and five vehicles destroyed during a clash between supporters of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and All Progressives Congress, APC at Hotoro, near NNPC Mega Station in Kano on Wednesday.
Eye witness told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the incident happened at about 1.30p.m. when supporters were on their way to attend PDP presidential campaign
According to the witness, supporters of both parties confronted themselves in the area thus leading to the burning of five vehicles belonging to the PDP.
The quick intervention of security operatives in the area saved the situation from spreading to other parts of the town.
Police Public Relations Officer in the Kano State, ASP Magaji Majiya confirmed the incident.
He said the command had begun investigation into the cause of the incident.
Majiya, however, urged politicians to warn their supporters against taking laws into their hands to ensure peace in the state.
