18-year-old Mustapha Mohammed was on Wednesday sentenced to five years imprisonment by a Federal High Court in Lagos for dealing in hard drugs.

The convict was said to have been caught selling 500 grammes of substances confirmed to be marijuana.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Prosecutor, Mr Orji Kalu, had told the court that the offence was committed on July 4, 2013, at Agbo-Malu in Apapa, Lagos.

Kalu said that Mohammed was found dealing in the substance, noting that the offence contravened NDLEA's laws.

Mohammed pleaded guilty to the charge and the trial judge, Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, convicted him as charged.

Ofili-Ajumogobia, therefore, sentenced the convict to five years imprisonment.
