Mr Sam Obi, former acting governor of Delta state has declared his intention to contest the 2015 governorship elections in the state.

Obi who is currently a member of the Delta state house of assembly disclosed his attention this afternoon in Asaba. Addressing newsmen Obi said, "If elected at the party primary and finally voted to power in 2015, my government will invest in viable sectors of the economy that will make the financial status of the state buoyant.

"I must say that Uduaghan has done a lot to improve on the well being of the people of Delta and there is still more to be done in the state.

"Coming to contest election is not just a child’s play, but it is something that has to do with destiny. In 2011, when I became the acting governor of the state, I never campaigned on contested election but because it was designed by God, He brought me in and in 2015 that same God has not changed.

"God that gave me opportunity to be governor for two months without campaigning or contesting for any election, that same God is still alive. And I will do my best and leave the rest to God , believing that Deltans will look into my past records and elect me as governor of the state come 2015", Obi added.
