The excitement with which some of the pro-Jonathan groups commenced their activities is waning. Our correspondent investigates why;
Between the second quarter of last year and the first quarter of this year, more than a handful of groups and associations had come up bearing the agenda of either urging President Jonathan to contest the next election or have even gone ahead to start selling him as the right candidate for Nigeria’s presidency in 2015.
Since the Yakubu Gowon era, when groups and individuals urged him to continue as head of state rather than to handover to a civilian administration, it has become the vogue to rally round sitting heads of governments with messages that would appeal to their ego as a way of business.
