Metro Abuja: 4 men Land in Court For Abducting Church Securityman

The police on Monday in Abuja arraigned four men in a Gudu Upper Area Court for abducting a security man, Umar Abubakar.

The men, Abubakar Musa, 23, Bako Yusuf, 17, Yusuf Ibrahim, 22, and David Musa, 28, and all of Christ Embassy at Durumi in Abuja, were charged with alleged conspiracy and abduction.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Ambi Ayuba, said Ibrahim Abubakar of Christ Embassy Church, Dagba village in Abuja’s Area 1 had lodged a report against the accused persons at the Durumi Police Station on Dec. 1.

Ayuba said the accused persons conspired with some others now at large and abducted Abubakar, a security man at a site near the Christ Embassy Church in Dagba village.

He said they took him to an unknown destination, until he was rescued by some sympathisers.

After the charges were read to the accused persons, they pleaded not guilty.

The presiding judge, Mr Adamu Wakili, admitted the accused persons to bail in the sum of N100,000 each and adjourned the case to Feb. 19, 2014 for hearing.
