After two more injured victims of the blast that rocked Emab Plaza in Abuja, Wednesday, later died at National Hospital, the total number of persons who died in the attack remained 21, Minister of Health, Prof Onyebuchi Chukwu said yesterday.
The Minister’s figure conflicted with what Police Force Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Frank Mba, had told journalists shortly after the blast. Mba said 21 and 17 people were dead and injured respectively from the explosion.
Prof Chukwu, who spoke with reporters when he visited the Maitama, Wuse, Asokoro General Hospitals, including the National Hospital, told Saturday Mirror: We still have six patients who are still on admission here (Maitama General Hospital).
