Adamawa State Permanent Secretary for Local Government, Kennedy Dauda, disclosed that the aide-de-camp to impeached governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa state was paid N45 million monthly as security votes raised by all the Local Government Areas in the state .

Premium Times reported that Dauda who allegedly made the claims during an appearance before a seven-person panel constituted by the state Acting Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, to probe Nyako’s administration said that the money was was never accounted for.

"The 21 local government councils in the state had been contributing N48 million monthly as assistance to the police and the amount was being collected by the ADC to former Governor, Murtala Nyako for security".

He also told the panel that the local governments, through the ministry he heads also paid N167 million in 2012 to a company that was awarded a contract for the provision of CCTV cameras. He doubted the contract had ever commenced.

Dauda also told the panel that the local governments also made a monthly contribution of N10. 5 million for the operations of the three state-owned media organizations. Although he claimed that the money never reached its destination.
