Taraba state Governor, Danbaba Suntai on Saturday left The Wellington Hospital, North London for Abuja, Nigeria. DAILY TRUST has this story.
The ailing Taraba state governor Danbaba Suntai yesterday left The Wellington Hospital, North London for Nigeria after months of rehabilitation at the Acute Neurological Unit.
A source at the hospital said the governor, who suffered brain injuries in an air crash in October 2012, “left for home today (Saturday)” with his aides and some members of his family. Another source, who was part of the hospital staff who looked after the governor, declined to comment on Suntai’s state of recuperation. Other sources said though the governor’s health situation had improved, it had not changed significantly.
Earlier, when our correspondent visited the hospital in the morning, he was told by one of Mr Suntai’s aides that he could not see the governor because he was asleep. The aide, who was referred to as “the body guard” by staff at the Unit was apparently hostile to the visit, arguing why it had to be today.
