All is not well in the political camp of the Rivers state Governor, Rotimi Amaechi as another aide has just walked out of the door. Marshal Uwom, Rivers state commissioner of housing has resigned his appointment.
Uwom is the 3rd person to leave Amaechi’s cabinet after the resignation of the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, Azubike Merukini last week and the former Commissioner for Urban Development, Tammy Dana-Gogo last year.
Addressing the press on his decision to resign, Uwom said, "series of recent developments, especially the decision of my boss, Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, to dump the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress formed the basis of my decision to leave the cabinet.
"I am a man that fears God and I am also principled too. I belong to the PDP and cannot continue to remain in the cabinet when my principal has left to join another party.
Reacting to Uwom's resignation, David Iyofor, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Amaechi said, "The man decided to leave the cabinet. That is his choice and we wish him well in whatever he decides to do after.
