The All Progressives Congress, APC, has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, of working in tandem with the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to rig the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra State.
The party expressed serious doubt about the ability of the agency to conduct a free and fair gubernatorial election on November 16, given recent developments. The APC, in a statement issued yesterday in Abuja by its Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, alleged that the top officials whom INEC plans to send to oversee the election are card-carrying members of the PDP; a development which it said has compromised their role as unbiased umpires.
