A serious fight has erupted in Nigeria's house of representatives. The fight is said to be mainly between lawmakers elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
At the heart of the fighting is the controversial inauguration of the National assembly.
THE CABLE reports that lawmakers loyal to Yakubu Dogara, the speaker, have taken custody of the mace to pre-empt moves to seize it by anti-Dogara members.
According to VANGUARD, Pro-APC lawmakers were chanting ‘APC, party supremacy’ while Dogara loyalists chanted ‘Dogara’ all through the fight.
LEADERSHIP reports that the fighting took place in the presence of some secondary school students who are on an excursion to the National Assembly.
