Two All Progressives Congress (APC) legislators have expressed grief over the sacking of Sen. Joy Emordi as Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on National Assembly.

On Friday, the presidency announced the termination of the appointments of Emordi and that of Dr Tunji Olagunju, Special Adviser on NEPAD.

In separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the lawmakers described Emordi as a hard working woman who did so much to improve the relationship between the Executive and the Legislature.

Femi Gbajabiamila (APC-Lagos), the Minority Leader of the House, said he was surprised at the sack of Emordi. He said she did a good job for the President under the circumstances she found herself.

Samson Osagie (APC-Edo), the Minority whip of the House of Representatives, described the adviser as a democrat who understood the dynamics of Executive-Legislature relationship.

“I commend her for the much she did as Special Adviser on National Assembly Matters.

"She is, and will remain the joy of the National Assembly," he said.
