Barrels laden with explosives have been dropped on rebels by the Syrian Government in the northern city of Aleppo. The British based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) stated this, in addition to the information of 22 people having been killed in the process, 14 of that number being young children.

Divided between the rebel and government forces, Aleppo is Syria’s second largest city and has been a constant target of the government’s assault on rebel forces.

Commercial hubs and schools have taken the brunt of attacks in recent times.
