Comrade Abba Yaro, chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State on Thursday beat up Barr. Mike Utsaha, a House of Assembly aspirant at the party’s state secretariat in Makurdi.
According to DAILY TRUST, narrating how he earned the beating, Utsaha said he had showed up at the party’s secretariat for the primaries on the directives of the committee in charge of the exercise when a Hilux van drove into the secretariat that was initially restricted only for aspirants and delegates.
"The state chairman came down from his office located upstairs of the building and started shouting while he went straight to where the electoral committee members were, forcefully grabbed the electoral materials and tore them into shreds and ordered everybody out of the building.
"I started recording everything that was happening and in the process, one of the boys informed the chairman of my action, he then approached me violently and dealt me a blow on the mouth insisting that I must give him my iPhone. When I resisted, he directed the boys to ensure they collected the phone from me. I was beaten up mercilessly"'.
