Senator Ben Murray Bruce has warned against the call for disintegration of Nigeria, saying that the country is better as one.
Recall that the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, officially announced the launch of ’BIAFREXIT’ as its campaign slogan following the referendum in Britain on Thursday, which saw the country pulling out of the European Union
The pro-Biafra agitators are calling for a similar referendum that will see the Igbos attaining self- determination.
Bruce made the warning via his twitter handle @benmurraybruce, calling on Nigerians especially those seeking secession, to think twice as the country has a lot to benefit as one rather than to disintegrate.
He said, “Brexit hit the British Economy hard. I’m sure they’ll recover. But what does it mean for Nigeria? It means we are better as one nation.
“If a nation as advanced and stable as UK can experience extreme economic shock from breakup with the EU, what awaits Nigeria if we break up?
“The amount the world has lost due to Brexit is over $2 trillion so far. More than UK ever gave EU. Nations are better together than apart!”
