On Monday, Shaibu Ibrahim, a 56-year old blind man urged a Grade 1 Area Court, Aso Pada, to order his wife, Lami, to pay him N300,000 or marry him a new wife as compensation for divorce.
According to Ibrahim, he had been giving Lami some money to keep for him from the onset of their marriage.
Ibrahim said “The money I gave her was to help us buy a house as we earlier agreed. Although I don’t really know how much I eventually gave to her, I think it should be up to N300,000.
“If she cannot give me the money, she should marry another woman for me.
Lami who is seeking divorce on grounds of her Husband's excessive sexual urge denied all the allegations leveled against her.
After listening to the two parties, the Presiding Officer, Malam Danladi Musa, directed them to go back home and resolve the issue of compensation. The case was adjourned to December 11.
