Amidst ceasefire claims and rumours that the Chibok schoolgirls who were kidnapped several months ago will soon be returned, the Boko haram terrorist group has kidnapped 60 women from Waga Mangoro and Garta villages in Adamawa while thrashing the villages.
40 of the women were said to have been abducted in Waga Mangoro and the other 20 from Grata; PUNCH reported.
Locals who managed to escape from the communities claim that that the area had been under the control of the insurgents for about two months now.
Tizhe Kwada, a native of Garta who escaped the onslaught had this to say, "The insurgents are still in the area. And they have slaughtered many men in Garta and abducted many young women. We also heard from residents of Wagga that they killed two men and took 40 women away from there".
Nigerian military sources are yet to confirm this latest attack and kidnaps.
