At least 33 people have been reported dead and about 80 others injured after a bomb explosion in Pakistan's northwestern city of Peshawar.
According to ALJAZEERA, Sunday's blast took place in the busy Qissa Khwani market in Peshawar, gateway to the troubled tribal regions which are infested with Taliban and Al-Qaeda linked fighters.
Sahebzada Muhammad Anis, a top local administration official confirmed the blast saying, "The blast killed at least 33 people and wounded more than 80 others".
Local officials said the blast took place near a police station but they did not initially believe the station was the intended target.
Shafqat Malik, Bomb Disposal Chief said, "Police station does not seem to be the target as it was away from the attack site"
"It looks like the market was the target".
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
