World Car Bomb Near German Embassy in Kabul Kills 50

A car bomb has gone off in Kabul, the Afghanistan's capital, claiming as much as 50 lives, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

Afghan officials say many were injured by the suicide bomb attack, as well.

According to reports, the car bombing occurred at the gate of the German embassy in the city.

There had been reports earlier of a huge explosion which sent clouds of black smoke in the air at an area near the presidential palace and foreign embassies.

Houses hundreds of meters away from the blast were damaged with windows and doors blown off their hinges.

Witnesses say it might be the biggest bomb attack in Kabul this year.
