Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima yesterday when he received the council of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) stated his desire to go back to school for his Ph. D after the expiration of his tenure as a governor.
“I have a Masters degree, but after the political interregnum I wish to go back and get a Phd so that one can become a true intellectual in the real sense,’’ he said.
According to the DAILY TRUST, the governor said though he left the University of Maiduguri where he lectured for two years for the banking sector, he is still passionate about returning to the ivory tower.
He said he still prefers to be addressed as a former lecturer.
He added that the university community remains the best as it accommodates diverse ideologies.
