President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Abubakar Abba Bello as the new Managing Director of Nigeria Export-Import Bank (NEXIM).
This was contained in a statement signed by the Director of Press, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) Bolaji Adebiyi on Thursday.
The statement said the President also appointed Dr. Bala Mohammed Bello as the bank’s Executive Director in charge of Corporate Services and Stella Okotete as Executive Director in charge of Business Development.
Adebiyi said the appointments are with immediate effect.
Bello would take over from Bashir Mahe Wali who has been acting as MD of the bank since February 2016 after Robert Orya was sacked earlier by the President.
Mr. Abubakar Abba Bello has been an Executive Director at Unity Bank Plc since January 9, 2014.
A member at the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), he was also a graduate of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria.
