The Presidency has reacted to reports that Nigeria's President, Muhammadu Buhari, canceled his scheduled trip to Ogoniland in Rivers state on Thursday.
Buhari was supposed to flag off a massive oil spillage clean up exercise in the region. It was generally reported that he cancelled the trip- as he didn't show up.
However, the President's Spokesman, Femi Adesina, said President Buhari didn't cancel the trip.
“We all went to school. There is a difference between cancellation and being represented by someone. The president did not cancel his trip to Ogoniland," Adesina said.
He was represented by the Vice President”, he added.
