The federal government has put the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, ICPC, Mr. Nta Ekpo on compulsory leave.
According to a Vanguard report, a letter from the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, directed Mr. Expo to proceed on compulsory leave starting from today, October 26, 2016.
He plans to formally inform staff of the commission about his formal exit this morning. Reports said Mr. Ekpo Chairman had earlier received two letters to this effect but he'd ignored them.
Although no reason was given for the abrupt sack of the ICPC boss, rumors say his mishandling of corruption cases against former governors nailed him.
Nta was appointed by the Jonathan administration in 2011 and was confirmed by the Senate in 2012.
