Nigeria - The Nigeria Labour Congress has urged the incoming president to probe the $40bn spent on electricity by past administrations, saying the investments has yet to yield any results.
Speaking at the International Labour Organisation (ILO) conference in Geneva, Switzerland, the NLC president, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, said the incoming government must address the inherent corruption in the petroleum sector and the power sector.
He also dislodge the cabal in the sector, which has held the nation by the throat for a very long time.
According to him, it was unfortunate that with the huge resources deployed into the power sector in the last few years, the country had continued to grope in the dark, with power generation gone down as low as 2,600MW.
