The Presidency on Wednesday said that President Muhammadu Buhari will not extend his corruption probe beyond the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

According to PREMIUM TIMES, Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs to Mr. Buhari, Femi Adesina, said the president will limit his anti-corruption war to the immediate past administration in the country.

''If you recall, that was already settled before he got inaugurated as president. He has said he will not waste time digging into the far past. The far past will includes Obasanjo and others. But the president has said he will not waste time to go that far''.

There goes the Yoruba philosophy! When trees fell upon trees, you make path way by removing the topmost tree first.

PMB should for once, lay the precedence by probing the last govt.

The past govts deliberately failed. Each succeeding govt closed its eyes, not probing its predecessor (I didn't probe ..so don't probe..).

Let there be a Change from the past.

Makes no sense at all but any competent defense lawyer should be able to extend the case beyond GEJ's term. We are still collecting money from Abacha so why would we let the others get away with it. There are no easy turns here.

Let's always start what we can finish. For a 4yrs term govt to start the archeology of all the corrupt pasts, there will be too much to dig in 4yrs.

In fact the last govt will in fact be relieved of the greatest sin that the immediate past govt will earn its wages willy nilly. The greatest sin is the sin that is committed and the sinner bears no punishment here and then.

It is not a big stretch to do all of them if the international community are willing to work with us. When GEJ wanted Ibori sorted, the British obliged. A quick list of office holders and documents under their tenure reviewed will bring out some interesting findings. That is what the ICPC and EFCC are there for... there is no tenure in their obligation to fight corruption in Nigeria. Murder will out, be it 7 years or 7x7.
