Sports CHAN 2014: Eagles to face Morocco on Saturday

Nigeria's homebased Eagles will on Saturday play against Morocco in the quarter-finals clash of the African Nations Championship(CHAN).

Morocco on Monday defeated Uganda 3-1 to top their group and will now take on Nigeria who finished second in group A behind Mali.

After seeing his team convincingly defeat South Africa on Sunday,Head Coach, Stephen Keshi said that the team is still work in progress but expressed happiness that the players are finally playing to his instructions.

Keshi was particularly happy that goalkeeper,Chigozie Agbim redeemed himself and proved his doubters wrong.

“The magic was that we simply asked the boys to go out there and play their game without pressure, enjoy your game and be yourself and I think they got that right perfectly against a very difficult opponent”.

Also South African Coach, Gordon Igesund praised the Eagles adding that they had a more physical presence than his side.

“We have no excuses to give here, we simply lost to a better team and we don’t deserve to win . I must congratulate Stephen Keshi and his team”, he declared on Sunday night.
